Our services at Mother of Light Center meet a wide range of needs, from daily essentials of food & clothing to spiritual ministries of prayer, support and outreach. Below you can explore some examples of the programs and services we offer.
Food Pantry & Household Goods
We provide food, clothing and household items to those in need in our community. Household items include diapers, toiletries, and furniture. MOLC also sponsors back-to-school backpack drives and winter coat drives each year, and delivers baby baskets to new mothers.
The center offers several community programs for vulnerable families, including a support group for single mothers, sewing classes, and the Reach for the Stars after-school program.
Each Thanksgiving we deliver full holiday meals to over 400 families in partnership with St. Stephen St. Agnes school. Our Christmas toy drive supplies more than 500 gifts to local families with the support of several parishes including St. Timothy school and parish.
We remember to walk with people in their journeys of faith through regular prayer services, rosaries, petitions, and Masses. The eucharist’s presence in the MOLC tabernacle reminds us that Christ is at the center of all we do.
"I called MOLC because I was in a crisis struggling with personal issues and was homeless with my baby daughter. MOLC helped me find shelter, visited me, and brought companionship and the supplies I needed. When I moved into an apartment, volunteers assisted with furniture, bedding, food, and other household supplies. I have maintained a job and I keep in touch with the Center. I am so grateful. All the support and love I have received at MOLC has helped me reclaim my life."
“Three years ago, I came to the Mother of Light Center looking for food for my family. From that day, I have received support, food and friendship...The Center has opened many doors for me and my family...I feel blessed and I am grateful that the Mother of Light Center is part of my Life.”
